Senior Software Engineer / Architect - - JOB ID #539558

Santa Cruz, Bay Area (or Virtual Office/Telecommute available for right candidate)

Suitable candidates will possess a software engineering background combined with professional services, consulting or pre/post-sales experience. Engineer/Architect must be comfortable with client presentations, demos and working with client teams to meet development, integration and/or training goals.

This position may be virtual for the right self-motivated, team player with previous satellite office track record using collaboration/communication tools (Skype, GoToMeeting, Instant Messaging, etc). Engineer/Architect will work on exciting custom development projects for Falafel’s clients worldwide.

Required:

  • 5+ years hand-on production experience with Microsoft .NET Framework development (WinForms and/or ASP.Net)
  • Proficiency in C# (or VB.Net, although most of our work is C#)
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server 2000 or later (not DBA, but be able to use the database in projects)
  • Excellent communication skills, team member, self-motivated and driven (lots of remote work, work from home etc)
  • Be a consultant: comfortable meeting clients, discussing their problems, listening, finding pragmatic solutions, and billing time
  • Some travel required 15% or less (conferences, client site visits)

Ideal candidates should also possess one or more of the following proficiencies:

  • SQL Server 2000 (or later) and Transact SQL (5+ yrs)
  • Web 2.0 technology (AJAX, dynamic HTML, Javascript)
  • Microsoft or other applicable Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent (i.e. Electrical Engineering) – or natural talent and experience that blows us away!
  • Knowledge of modeling (ER diagrams, UML etc), processes (agile, RUP, etc), Version Control Systems and Practices (TFS, SVN etc), QA processes and practices (unit testing, continuous integration, automated QA, etc)

Bonus Points for:

  • Oracle DBA
  • WPF (or Silverlight)
  • WWF and/or WCF

Trainer (Software) - - JOB ID #542659

Capitola, Bay Area (or Virtual Office/Telecommute available for right candidate)

Suitable candidates will possess a strong technical software background with previous experience in the areas of professional service, consulting or training/demos or strong desire to apply tech expertise to these areas. Trainer may work from virtual office/telecommute, if willing to travel to client sites as needed for summit and on-site trainings.

Ideal candidate will also have experience with online trainings, as well as experience using collaboration/communication tools such as Skype, GoToMeeting, Instant Messaging, etc. Trainer will work with Falafel’s great worldwide client base to roll out trainings and provide client support

Required:

  • 3+ years hands-on training experience in software products or components
  • Be a consultant: comfortable meeting clients, discussing their problems, listening, finding pragmatic solutions, and billing time
  • Have a strong background in general Windows and Web programming, preferably .NET framework.
  • Enjoy and do extremely well with public speaking to classes of 5-30 people
  • Willing to travel within the states and abroad, up to 75%

Ideal candidates should also possess one or more of the following proficiencies:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or comparable, or a natural talent and experience that blows us away!
  • Microsoft or other applicable Certifications

For TestComplete training:

  • Knowledge of processes (agile, RUP, etc)
  • Knowledge of version control systems and practices (TFS, SVN etc)
  • Knowledge of QA processes and practices (unit testing, smoke tests, daily build etc)
  • Knowledge of automated QA in general, TestComplete and Automated Build Studio in particular

For Telerik Training

  • Knowledge of Windows and Web Development
  • Preferably experience with RadControls for MS AJAX or WinForms?

Bonus Points for experience of TestComplete, BuildStudio or Telerik RadControls
