Alain "Lino" Tadros, President and CEO
Alain "Lino" Tadros is President & CEO of Falafel Software, a Silicon Valley based
company, with presence in Colorado and Texas, dedicated to providing world-class
consulting, training, and software development for small, medium, and enterprise
level businesses. Prior to founding Falafel, Lino was a member of the development
team at Borland for Delphi and C++Builder. Mr. Tadros has been awarded Microsoft
MVP status four years in a row (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) for his numerous contributions
to the C# community and is an expert in .NET, LINQ, ASP.NET, COM, and Web Services.
Tadros is an industry renowned speaker and has given numerous presentations on 5
different continents since 1994. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors
of 4 Silicon Valley corporations.

John Waters, Chief Technology Officer
John Waters was the lead architect and developer of a number of
high profile financial software products and solutions, including Scandinavia’s
leading Internet retail stock trading system, a leading mortgage and credit risk
assessment product now used by many of Sweden’s banks for housing loans. John
has a strong background in Delphi, C# and SQL, as well as many years of experience
of successful project management. John has also spoken at conferences on the subject
of Web Services. Recent projects include such diverse experiences as in-car navigation
systems, GPS- and MapPoint-based solutions, capture and playback of video, a web
based Volunteer Tracking System for a food bank, and a Nortel telephone switch interface
module. Currently, John is the full time project manager and chief architect for
a large custom built ERP system that handles billions of dollars of business, using
Web 2.0 technology and AJAX. John has a MS in Computer Science from Uppsala University
in Sweden, has been a Microsoft Certified Professional for SQL Server, and is currently
a MCP in Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET.

Noel Rice, VP Software Services
Noel has over 14 years of experience in the software industry including
numerious successful projects in the industries of medical, telecom, financial and
manufacturing. Noel also worked as a lead developer on major projects for Hewlett
Packard and Johnson & Johnson. Noel is considered a valuable worldwide resource
on .NET. C#, Delphi internals, Java, J2ME, COM, SOAP, ASP.NET and Sockets development.
Noel co-authored "Using Delphi - special edition" by Sybex and has written
numerious articles on software development for top industry magazines. Noel is a
Borland Certified Delphi and Kylix Developer & Trainer.

Adam Anderson, Master Consultant
Adam Anderson is a Microsoft Certified Application Developer with
over 10 years of experience. He started as a consultant using Delphi to rapidly
deliver custom, high-quality business solutions in a wide variety of industries.
His later experiences afforded him the opportunity to become familiar with a number
of different products, technologies, and disciplines, including SQL Server and T-SQL,
Oracle and PL/SQL, Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services, COM/DCOM/COM+, Internet
Information Services, all areas of the .NET Framework, normalized relational database
design, and good object-oriented design based on design patterns and refactoring.
His latest area of interest is learning new programming languages, especially functional
languages such as Haskell and F#.

Adam Markowitz, Software Architect
Adam has over a decade of experience using, writing, and creating
development tools for the Microsoft Windows (native 32-bit), .NET, and Linux platforms.
He has spent more than 8 years on a number of the Borland Research and Development
teams striving to create quality and performance in everything he does. His computer
interests lie in new technologies and methodologies (.NET, AJAX, etc.) as well as
old (compiler design and implementation, language design, etc.). He is a graduate
of the University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC) obtaining his Bachelor of Science
in Computer Science in 2006.

Steve Trefethen, Software Architect

Steve Trefethen is a former R&D Staff Engineer at CodeGear, Borland's Developer
Tools Group, with over 15 years of experience working along side some of the world's
leading software developers. Steve has extensive experience in component framework
design and implementation as well as being an expert in test automation. He is well
known and respected within the Delphi community around the world not only for his
product contributions but also his highly visible online presence as Borland's top
blogger. Steve implemented a significant portion of Delphi's ASP.NET designer as
well as numerous Delphi IDE/VCL/RTL features over the years. He has a BA in Computer
Science from the University of Maine and lives in Scotts Valley, CA with his wife
and children. Steve likes to spend his spare time pumping iron at the local gym.

Mike Dugan, Senior Software Engineer
Although Mike cannot leap buildings in a single bound, he can practically
absorb a client’s problem space; making their problem his. His uncanny ability to
elicit requirements and then rapidly design and build a custom solution make this
classically trained Computer Scientist from the University of Colorado a strong
ally in the world of software development. His abilities were forged at Xapware
Technologies working on countless projects that spanned the entire technological
realm. Those skills were then tempered at Turbopower Software as a Senior Software
Engineer for Borland’s number one component developer. Most recently, these abilities
were honed at Aristocrat Technologies where Mike led teams through the design and
development of an enterprise class casino management system. Now he is eager to
assist you.

Bary Nusz, Senior Software Engineer
Bary’s career has taken him from the oil field services industry,
to LCD research, and to the DOE. He’s served as a lead researcher, designer, and
programmer on numerous systems that encompassed a wide range of technologies such
as ultrasonics, eddy current, and downhole viscosity measurements — all along the
way using the latest software technologies to solve complex control and data imaging
challenges. With numerous patents and engineering/scientific achievement awards
he finds no challenge too hard to handle. During the spring he spends time chasing
down severe storms, and in the summer spends time at the lake with his family. He
also enjoys competing as an epee fencer along with his son and daughter. Bary has
a BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University.

Rick Miller, Senior Software Engineer
Rick wrote his first computer program using Fortran in the mid-60's
(before most of the young pups in Falafel were born), and has been employed in the
field of information technology since 1976. Rick's systems experience ranges from
retail accounting and inventory systems to serial communications to manufacturing
execution systems in a broad cross-section of companies from Fortune 500 to two-person
startups, from medical device manufacturers to motorcycle dealers, and from personnel
systems to device interfaces. Rick's experience includes SQL Server, Oracle and
Sybase (and Pick!!), and languages from Z80 assembler to C#, and is a Microsoft
Certified Professional. In his spare time, Rick is a licensed pyrotechnician.

Rachel Hagerman, Software Engineer
Rachel finds joy in meeting challenges in her career and her life.
After deciding to pursue a career in electronics, and as one of only a handful of
female students in her department, Rachel graduated at the top of her class with
a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Two
years after graduation, she was leading the software design team on a multi-million
dollar testing system for the Department of Energy. Rachel has experience in circuitry
design and automated test systems, but her true passion has always been for software.
Rachel loves to spend time on a wakeboard in the summer or a snowboard in the winter
with her husband and friends.

Angelo Martinez, Software Engineer
Angelo has worked with a variety of technologies including
Delphi, C/C++, OpenGL, DirectX and on to C# and the .NET Framework. His career
includes working for both Departments of Defense and Energy. Projects include everything from instrumentation
control to robot and circuit simulation, wargaming and 3-D graphics programming.
He enjoys opportunites to learn new things and spending time with his family.

Shane Laurent, Software Engineer
Shane has always been fascinated by how things worked, he began taking apart and putting back together electric motors and other devices to learn how they worked. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he learned how to program in Pascal and C on UNIX and Macintosh computers. He also received his Masters Degree in Software Engineering from Texas Tech University. Shane has experience in the world of LCD’s developing software applications in Delphi and Assembly to communicate with microprocessor circuitry. He has also developed software for instrumentation control by utilizing C# to control sensors remotely via .NET Remoting for the Department of Energy. In addition he has experience in the installation and administration of server based systems such as Team Foundation Server. Shane used to like playing video games but now is eager to develop technology that will change the world of gaming forever.
When he’s not working on the next revolutionary product he is usually hunting, fishing or coaching little league sports for his boys.

For nearly 15 years Mr. Halls has acquired extensive sales and management experience
in many different industries. From helping to grow “Mom and Pop” companies, to thriving

Matt Kurvin, Graphic/Web Design Specialist
Matt has been involved in the arts his entire life. Attending art schools since
he was 5, it was only natural that his career be surrounded by the creative. From
layout, illustration, concept design, to photography and animation, he strives to
keep on the cutting edge of contemporary design.
Matt's passions include surfing, playing music, world travel, and new experiences.

Aaron Rhodes, Software Engineer
A jack of all trades in the software industry, Aaron has filled the roles of Community
Representative, Product Support Engineer, Software Engineer, Build Manager, QA Engineer
and IT Helpdesk Manager. His strong background in C++, Delphi and Java have made
him a malleable asset to every team he has worked with.
In addition to his passion for all things technical, he is a gamer, entertainer,
writer and general eclectic.

Aimee Nusz, Technical Writer
Aimee has been working with words for 20+ years. She has provided writing and editing
for a major newspaper and several multinational corporations. Her specialty is converting
“engineer-speak” into English. She enjoys spending time with her family at the lake
in the summer and at fencing tournaments the rest of the time.
Aimee has a BA in Journalism/Marketing from Texas Tech University.

Janet De Lu, Technical Writer
Janet has over 20 years of experience in the software industry. She has worked as
a developer on major projects for Borland International, including Delphi and Paradox.
She has also developed independent packages in the areas of biomedical computing
and expert system and educational and financial software for the New Zealand market.
Janet has many years as a technical writer as well, and was technical lead for the
Delphi documentation team at Borland Software Corporation. Janet has a Ph.D. in
Mathematics from the University of Denver.
