Quidsi is a consumer products, that like many companies, was faced with reconciling it’s processes with its project management software. Falafel Software was called in to bridge the gap. We created an application that allowed Quidsi’s international team to manage projects and resources visually, and the data was integrated with their existing AxoSoft OnTime project management software. Now, instead of logging on to various systems to analyze, organize and enter data. Qudsi uses a Silverlight application by Falafel Software that allows project managers to drag blocks around a screen to schedule projects according to time and resource constraints.

Determining the levy on each parcel of land in a district has always been a time consuming and labor intensive process. Traditionally, teams of IT personnel run, review and rerun data to come to a conclusion. A multi-disciplined civil engineering and planning firm known as Albert A. Webb Associates (WEBB) sought to improve the efficiency of this process. With the help of Falafel Software, a software package known as WebbStar was born. With WebbStar, a task that previously required an entire IT team, now just requires someone to push a button. The time it takes to complete an assessment is now measured in minutes instead of hours.

Unity Media needed to manage projects with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. AxoSoft’s OnTime project management software easily handles both cases, but lacks a feature Unity Media desired: a Gantt chart. Unity Media simply called in Falafel Software, one of AxoSoft’s partners, to build the enhancement. With the OnTime API, we built a new Silverlight application that gives project managers the ability to visualize a project’s status and update tasks through a Gantt chart.

SBS Worldwide, a U.K. based international freight forwarder, needed to build a Dashboard and Purchase Order Management System for their in house logistics and warehousing application. Falafel Software was contacted to do a proof of concept for the architecture of the system, and then moved on to building the dashboard itself. The dashboard uses a series of graphs, charts and interactive grids to provide a snapshot of the state of the system and allows for the easy creation and tracking of purchase orders.

DSN Software is a privately-held software development company that engineers innovative practice management software solutions for dental and dental specialist practices. DSN’s Dental-Exec practice management software handles patient records, reports, billing, and conducts practice analysis. When the time came to enhance the offering with an advanced scheduling component, DSN choose Falafel software for both its design and technical expertise. Falafel leveraged Telerik’s RadControls for WPF and the RadScheduler to create a slick and feature rich scheduling module, and then enhanced the overall look and feel of the application.

Chevron contacted Falafel Software to build their localized Chevron Angola web site. Falafel built a dynamic, localized (Portuguese and English) site, working closely with Chevron Corporate, to make sure the site adhered to corporate branding and information structure standards.

AlphaMetrix has created an independent platform for highly qualified investors to research, invest, and connect with hedge funds. To enhance the user’s reporting capabilities, AlphaMetrix hired Falafel Software to build a dynamic reporting system. Report definitions, formatting, conditional expressions and the user interface for report parameters are all dynamically constructed at run-time. This fully dynamic system is driven by database definitions and now reports can be built and added to AlphaMetrix’s system without new application builds.

In 2011, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties distributed 45 million pounds of nutritious food to low-income people in need, making this food bank one of the largest in the nation. Nearly 240,000 people were fed each month and collecting and distributing this food required 297,755 hours of volunteer service. Organizing food drives and tracking volunteer contributions is an essential aspect of their day to day operations. Falafel Software designed and built an internal web based application allowing each department to enter, retrieve and report on this data. Every food drive and every volunteer hour is recorded in this system.
